One of our clients runs a video tutorial website with thousands of videos. Often a new video technology comes along and we need to convert the original videos to a new format. A recent example of this is the need to convert all videos for iPhone/iPad compatibility (using H.264 with Baseline profile).

Each time a source video is added to VC, we need to manually change the video and audio bitrates to match the source file (we usually add an extra 2% to minimise loss). Ideally, we would like this process to be automatic.

  1. Option for output bitrate to match the input bitrate.
  2. Option for output bitrate to match the input bitrate with an increase/decrease of X%.
  3. Add the ability to 'Copy' the audio stream if the input matches the output, rather than unnecessarily re-encoding it. For example, when input uses AAC and output is H.264 MP4, VC should automatically select 'Copy' as the default action for audio.
  4. Currently the AAC maximum is only 76kbps. Please update this by adding a full range of output sizes, plus the option to enter a custom value.


Hope to see these additions soon. Thank you very much for a great program. We have 2 VCS licences.
