Hi,
I have recently installed VC 3.6.15.40 on a windows server 2003 using windows media server to stream video. We are using Video Charge to place a watermark on our videos before encoding with Windows Media Encoder for use on the streaming server.
I have two issues. When looking at my VC profile I can only select the Windows Media Video V7 codec (in fact is it greyed out so thats my only option). Is this the latest codec and if not how do I install the latest Codec?
Also, when I convert mpg to wmv the video plays ok in media player but the microsoft encoder fails with an error saying that the "Encoder failed to retrieve duration attribute from the source plug-in" when it tries to convert the file created by Video Charge. Any ideas? Video Charge files created from original wmv's work ok.
Regards AJ

Then we recommend you to refuse using profiles since they may not support the latest codeds. Manual settings are more precise and flexible anyhow. Please feel free to conact us if having some problems on manual settings.
We also tried to convert a .mpg file to watermarked .wmv. Then successfully processed that .wmv file with WMEncoder. So we need some additional information in order to examine the problem.
Please write about it to support@videocharge.com and describe the issue in detail there (indicate the settings you set when trying to convert produced .wmv with WMEncoder; indicate version of WMEncoder you worked with, etc). Possibly you will also be asked to upload the .wmv file your version of WMEncoder fails to work with.
