Hi,

We've just begin using VideoCharge this week and may end up buying it in the next few days.

Now, my question is about video quality. The video that we are trying to convert to flash is an mpeg-2 format. The video guy comes in from the field and rips the video to his computer form the camera, which is then in a DVD format of mpeg-2. I have read that the mpg format is quite bad and archaic.

Here is a Flash (2.8mb) http://p.b5z.net/i/u/10000615/f/video/soundstrategies/jls.fl vone of our trials for you to see. The video quality is by no means good compared to http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FI73MA/ref=amb_link_633 5192_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_ r=0060SE0QC37S63X5B723&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=363404001 &pf_rd_i=507846Amazon video quality.

What can we do to improve quality? I'm sorry that these questions are a bit vague and amateurish, but we have professional equipment.

What questions could I answer that would help you answer my questions?

Confused and bewildered,
Shad

What are common bit rate values and is there a method for determining use of one value over the other?

EDIT:
The video details are:
Format: MPEG-2
Type: Video
File Size: 151,584,768b
Resolution: 640X480
Bitrate: 6100 kbit/s
Length: 0:40 seconds

So I've tried altering the bitrate value at three different stages: 512 (default) bitrate, 3072 (50% of original bitrate) and 6144 (basically 100%).

All numbers are increments of 512; however, I'm receiving this error:
"Set Top Box implementations of VP60 require image dimensions that are multiples of 32 wide and multiples of 16 high. This file may not play on some set top boxes."

But I don't think this matters to me, since this video is for a web site. Your thoughts?

Thanks,
Shad

Hi.

It is the problem of On2VP codec for FLV and SWF files.

You should set Frame Size with width divisible by 16 and height 32 obligatory.

Or you may use H263 codec.

Videocharge Team.

Hello, I got a issue as well here it is:

My vids are filmed by my company on HD format than the guy converts them to wmv so my job is to convert them to FLV and to put them on a player online, ok now the problem is that the player is Full screen always shows Full screen now I'm curious if there are any settings to get the best out of it.

The wmv file is 160 mb or around that value, even if the FLV will result in 30 mb or so is good but just dunno what to use to get the best out of it in full screen mode.

Thanks in advance.

Hi.

More quality video has more size Smile
And it does not depend from frame size.
