One of our clients runs a video tutorial website with thousands of videos. Often a new video technology comes along and we need to convert the original videos to a new format. A recent example of this is the need to convert all videos for iPhone/iPad compatibility (using H.264 with Baseline profile).
Each time a source video is added to VC, we need to manually change the video and audio bitrates to match the source file (we usually add an extra 2% to minimise loss). Ideally, we would like this process to be automatic.
- Option for output bitrate to match the input bitrate.
- Option for output bitrate to match the input bitrate with an increase/decrease of X%.
- Add the ability to 'Copy' the audio stream if the input matches the output, rather than unnecessarily re-encoding it. For example, when input uses AAC and output is H.264 MP4, VC should automatically select 'Copy' as the default action for audio.
- Currently the AAC maximum is only 76kbps. Please update this by adding a full range of output sizes, plus the option to enter a custom value.
Hope to see these additions soon. Thank you very much for a great program. We have 2 VCS licences.
